NewsJune 9, 2007 - A new review has been posted to the mini reviews page. A review of Dan Margulis' Photoshop LAB Color. The reading list gets another update too. February 24, 2007 - Happy New Year! I really neglected the site last year and I want to do a better job of adding content and updates to the site this year. I'm also going to slowly start transitioning the pages to use more CSS and get away from depending on tables for the layout. I don't have a lot of new items or updates to start with, but there are a couple. I added a couple of new photos to the photography page. And after an extended period of neglect, I finally updated the reading list. And stay tuned, there's more to come. Really. November 30, 2006 - The final version of Scaletron! 3.0 has been released. In addition to calculating scaling percentage and dimensions, Scaletron! can now calculate the effective resolution of scaled images. You can download Scaletron! version 3.0 here. November 10, 2006 - A new beta of Scaletron! has been posted for download. A typographical error in one of its routines caused that routine to throw an error message. This has been fixed. November 2, 2006 - Scaletron! version 3 is now in public beta! Version 3 adds the ability to calculate image resolution in addition to document dimensions and scaling percentage. We are holding the public beta through the month of November, and will have a final release of version 3 when the public beta is complete. If you'd like to participate in beta testing Scaletron! download a copy from this page. August 28, 2005 - Scaletron! user Kevin Horn recently informed me that after he upgraded to Apple's latest Mac operating system, 10.4 Tiger, Scaletron! quit working for him. I haven't upgraded to Tiger yet, so I wasn't aware there was a problem. Andreas Kiel from the AppleScript Studio Mail list graciously took a look at Scaletron's source and found the problem for me. Kevin tested the new version I built and confirmed it worked, so we're happy to make the new, Tiger compatible version 2.1 of Scaletron! available for immediate download from the Scaletron! page. The Read Me page also has an update to the reading list with a couple of additions and subtractions. July 10, 2005 - The Words section of the site is officially open today. Since I'm getting linked to for it, I thought I better get it posted. "It" is my essay, "The Media and Perception" which you can read here. May 23, 2005 - There are a couple of news items today. I made the decision to switch the hosting service we use for Rocketjam.com. An unbeatable price to storage/bandwidth ratio as well as very positive customer comments about the company prompted the move to DreamHost. We made the switchover last week. Everything went fairly seamlessly and so far I'm happy with everything. After a burst of work on the site early in the year, its slowed down a bit over the past couple of months, as other things have kept me occupied. I've started the book review page for the Read Me section. There's just three reviews right now, so they're all on one page. You can check them out here. As always, check back for more updates or subscribe to our RSS feed for site news. March 26, 2005 - To this point, all the work on the Photoshop section of Rocketjam.com has been confined to the gallery. We're happy to announce we've completed our first Photoshop FX tutorial and it's now online. We hope you find it useful. February 26, 2005 - We have handful of updates and additions. The Photographs section of the Photoshop gallery has had a couple of additions. A couple of new photos were added, including the our first one shot by Lyndsey. I also added a new section to the Photographs section. The reading list was also updated. In case you missed it in our RSS feed, the POV-Ray gallery was updated back in January with an image I entered in the IRTC a couple of years ago. We also have our first tutorial for the Photoshop FX page in the works as well as a couple of other projects for the site which will eventually make an appearance. December 19, 2004 - A small flurry of updates! In anticipation of the new year, I moved the old 2003 items from the News Page here to the site archives. The Hansen Home Page managed to get an update for 2004 before the year is over with a small story about the treehouse I'm building. And the reading list has been updated on the Read Me page. November 16, 2004 - I added a couple of new scripts to the AppleScript download page. Both are for working with text. Like all the scripts we have available, they are free and editable. October 18, 2004 - The POV-Ray Mac modelers page has been updated. All modelers listed are now current, modelers are now specified whether they run in OS 9 or OS X and dead links have been removed. The utilities page still needs to be updated. October 5, 2004 - I finally have a Mac links page up. This is another one of those slowly-growing pages I have on the site. I'll add links to it as I get time. I have a lot more than I've posted so far! July 14, 2004 - New sections and a (slightly) new look for Rocketjam.com! The new index page with a new graphic and a couple of new sections is online. The icon navigation bar on all the main pages has also been changed to reflect the new look and sections. Of course, in keeping with our long-standing tradition, our new sections are being announced without much real content there yet. The Read Me section does have a current and recent reads list so that's a start. The Words section hasn't been worked on yet, but hopefully there will be something there before too long. And in possibly even bigger news, we have the solution to finding out when these pages actually aquire new content! (Or even any content as the case may be.) Rocketjam.com now has an RSS feed! That's right, at Rocketjam.com we're keeping up with the latest hot trend in web technology by adding an RSS news feed that you can subscribe to with your favorite RSS news aggregator. There's no need for an old-fashioned email update list for Rocketjam.com! Just grab our rss URL here and put it in your news aggregator to keep up with all of our site updates! June 27, 2004 - Big News! At long last Scaletron! the scaling calculator has been updated for OS X! Scaletron! 1.0 ran fine in Classic on OS X, but now an OS X-native version 2 of Scaletron! is available. Rewritten in AppleScript Studio, you can get your free copy of Scaletron! 2.0 and the open-licensed source Xcode project from our Scaletron! page. We haven't updated the News page since December, but things have been going on here at Rocketjam.com. The Photoshop section had some more updating with a photo page. I've also been working on a new index page which I may finish one of these days. |
