I took several pictures of K. Lee out in the back yard one day last summer (2003). She knew I was taking them and was doing some posing. This photo was badly overexposed. I created a curves adjustment layer and increased the shadow fairly dramatically in each channel. Then I applied the blue channel to the red and green channels since it carried more facial detail than the red and green. Then I went back to the curve layer and adjusted the red and green highlight end and the blue shadow end some more. The original layer was then duplicated and dragged above the curve adjustment layer and applied in color burn mode to finish it.
