I made the geometric shape in the background in Adobe Illustrator, starting with some simple shapes and distorting/transforming them to get the more complex shape. That was opened in Photoshop where the embossing and color was added. The stars in the background are made by adding monochromatic noise to a black-filled layer, adjusting it's lightness and intensity with Levels and then applying to the night-sky filled layer below in Screen mode.
